It depends on the depth and type of water the structure is being placed in. For calm freshwater (no current and gentle waves) we recommend the following: 2' - 4' deep, use a minimum of 4 pounds per individual structure; 4' - 8' of water use 8 pounds/individual structure; 8' - 15' use 12 pounds/individual structure; and 15' - 25' we recommend 16 pounds/individual structure. These recommendations are for individual structures. If you are attaching two or more together, remember to multiply by the number of individual structures. See our Installation Page for more information. Areas with strong waves, current or saline/salt water will need more weight, but since each case varies you will need to determine the extra weight needed in these situations.
OASIS structures are specially designed to be slightly buoyant. Without added weight the structures would float, which is why the correct weight is required for proper installation. With slight buoyancy each structure will suspend in the water off the bottom, above the weight(s), offering an unique, effective, scalable habitat component for fish.
Yes. Unlike many artificial structures which are permanently attached to the lake bottom, or too heavy to move, OASIS structures can be moved if desired.
Individual structures are light but bulky. Each structure weighs approximately 2 pounds with shipping dimensions of 24" x 24" x 4". Individual structures are shipped in large poly bags via USPS Priority Mail. Once the package is opened the branches are arranged to provide a diameter of approximately 40". Brick weight sets are shipped in a USPS Flat Rate box. Large orders and bulk orders can be shipped via large boxes or freight, or picked up in Omaha, NE.
